Amanda a.k.a. "A.J." began studying acting at the age of 9. She has Guest Starred on CBS, FOX, HBO, ABC, WB and NBC. She is best known for her role as "Shannon," on the CBS drama, "The Guardian." Prior to becoming an actress, she had a very successful modeling career, appearing in several merchandising for Disney, Mattel, Playmates Toys, Zutopia, and American Girl to name just a few. She has been playing the piano for 7 years. She and her older sister, Alyson a.k.a. "Aly" are currently recording their first "Aly & A.J." CD. Amanda's hobbies are dance, cooking, horseback riding, mountain biking, reading and hanging out with her 2 dogs. Her best friend is her sister Alyson.
"We want our songs to be fun, but we also want to write about deeper issues that make people think and issues that we can all relate to in one way or another," says AJ.
In fact, they wrote or co-wrote 12 of the 14 songs that grace their debut album. The two covers are already popular with millions of fans around the world. Earlier this year, they recorded "Do You Believe In Magic," for the Disney Channel movie. Their version of "Walking On Sunshine" was prominently used in the smash summer film, Herbie Fully Loaded.
Their recording resume also includes songs for the Platinum-selling Disney Jingle Jams ("Jingle Bell Rock") and Disneymania III ("Zippidy Do Dah"). Naturally, music and TV industry and fan magazines have gravitated towards the duo, deluging them with requests for interviews, photo shoots and appearances. Apparently, they see in Aly & AJ what their burgeoning fan base already knows: These sisters are destined for stardom. As more people become exposed to their real live talents, it's only a time before Aly & AJ become household words - in the best sense of the expression.
